How to Make Poutine

 

  1. Prepare French fries. The fries may be either baked or deep fried, frozen pre-made or prepared from scratch.
  2. Prepare brown gravy. The best gravy is made from pan drippings, but since you’re reading a recipe on this blog, I will presume you are a lazy human being.
  3. Place your French fries onto a plate, into a bowl, or pile in a tray.
  4. Place cheese curds on French fries. Cheese curds, not shredded cheese, not cheese slices, not powdered cheese. Cheese curds. The fresher the curds, the better your poutine.
  5. Pour gravy over the French fries and cheese curds.
